Weekend with culture in Kraków
For lovers of classical music we offer a particular trip to Kraków. The city itself is considered to be one of the most fabulous in due to its specific historical atmosphere, its monuments and legends connected with them. In 1978, the centre of Kraków, together with the district of Kazimierz, was listed as UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site.


1st DAY
Arrival in Kraków, short walk via the beautiful streets of Old Town in Kraków. Walking through the largest market square – Rynek Główny (in medieval Europe it was the meeting place of Kraków burghers and merchants from all over the Europe), you can meet inhabitants sitting in the gardens of pubs and restaurants of Kraków and hear the Bugle Call, played from the taller tower of St. Mary’s Church every hour to four sides of the world. St. Mary’s church is Gothic building with six interior chapels, an octagonal presbytery and two towers. The beautiful wooden altar made by Wit Stwosz is worth paying attention. Is is made entirely of wood, in the shape of a large cabinet with hinged panels. The altar sculptures are polychromied and richly gilded. Dinner in the hotel – early evening.
In the evening Concert in a Krakow ’s Philharmonic Hall. 

 
 
2nd DAY
After breakfast guided tour of Kraków, including entrance to Wawel Castle (The Polish Acropolis. Originally Romanesque, later Gothic, the castle is mostly a Renaissance construction in its present form), Cloth Hall, Collegium Maius (the oldest preserved building of the Jagiellonian University, founded by The Royal Act at 12th May 1364, dates back to the early 15th century. The museum’s rich collection includes objects related to Nicolas Copernicus, who studied at the Krakow Academy , old Arabian astronomic instruments, including famous early-16th-century globe with a representation of America).
In the evening sightseeing a Jewish district of Kraków – Kazimierz. At the present Kazimierz is one of the most popular districts of the city thanks to its rich tradition and the atmosphere enabling us to feel the „spirit” of its former inhabitants.
Dinner in Kazimierz district with the concert of Klezmer music. 

 

3rd DAY
After breakfast departure for a guided tour in Wieliczka Salt Mine – one of the most ancient mines in the world. It has been operating since the 13th century with no intermissions. In 1978, it was listed as UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site. The tourist route open for visitors connects three levels, and reaches 135 meters under the surface. Besides the Tourist Route, the underground passages and chambers house the Kraków Salt - Works Museum , one of the largest mining-related museums in Europe .
Free time - in the afternoon.
In the evening opera in Kraków’s Opera House.
After spectacle, farewell-gala diner in a restaurant in the Old Town. 

 

4th DAY
After breakfast – departure.
